While our products are shelf stable, we strongly recommend refrigerated displays to slow the fermentation process, and maintain the best possible flavor and texture for your customers.\n\nIn some cases, kraut brine will leak onto packaging material and cause a strong, unpleasant scent. This does not compromise product integrity. Just wipe product down before shelving and discard all affected packaging. \n\nPlease educate your customers that there may be pressure under the lid and to open jars slowly over a sink or bowl.
