The Milkman's Back in Town.Delivered the old-fashioned way — right to your door.

The Milkman is Back — Frontier Organics local delivery

There was a time when the good things came to you. The milkman knew your name, left the bottles cold on the step, and nobody wondered where their food came from — because they knew the man who brought it.

We are bringing that back. Order from our shelves and we will carry it to your door: raw milk, honey, pasture eggs, grass-fed meat, tallow skincare, the whole store. No middleman, no warehouse, no app taking a cut.

I am the owner of this store, and most evenings I am the one behind the wheel. When you open the door, you are meeting the man who stocked the shelf.

— Jay, Frontier Organics

How It Works

  1. Place your order. Fill your basket online or call it in, then choose Local Delivery at checkout. Your address is checked against our 5-mile route right there, so you will know immediately.
  2. We pack it fresh and cold. Raw milk, meat and anything refrigerated goes into insulated bags with ice packs the moment before we leave.
  3. We run the route that evening. One trip a day, after 7 PM, once the store is closed and the day's orders are gathered.
  4. It lands at your door. Leave a cooler out if you will not be home — just like the old days, your provisions waiting for you.

Questions, Answered

Do you deliver to my address?
If you are within 5 miles of 429 McHenry Ave, yes. That covers most of Modesto — 95350, 95351, 95354, 95355, 95356, 95357 and 95358 — plus the nearest edges of Ceres and Empire. The surest test takes ten seconds: put your address in at checkout and the delivery option will appear if you are on the route. If it does not appear, you are outside the ring for now.
What if I live outside the 5 miles?
Free in-store pickup is always open to you, and we will hold your order cold until you arrive. We are also growing the route — call the store at (209) 968-8435 and tell us where you are. Enough neighbors in one direction is exactly how the next ring gets added.
Which days do you deliver?
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday — every evening after 7 PM. No deliveries Thursday, because that is farmers market day and we are out with the growers. No deliveries Sunday, because the store is closed and we are with our families.
When do I need to order by?
Order by 3:00 PM and it goes out on that evening's route. Anything after 3 PM rides the next delivery day. So a Wednesday 4 PM order arrives Friday evening (Thursday is market day), and a Saturday afternoon order arrives Monday evening.
Do I have to be home?
No. Most folks are not, and that is the whole point of a milkman. If your order has cold items and you will be out, leave a cooler on the porch and we will pack it in for you — that is the old way and it works. If you would rather hand it off in person, say so in the order notes and we will knock.
How do you keep the raw milk and meat cold?
Cold goods are the last thing loaded and they travel in insulated bags with ice packs. Raw dairy is held below 45°F from our cooler to your door — we do not break the chain. On hot Valley afternoons we pack heavier, and we still ask you to get it into your fridge as soon as you can.
Can I really get raw milk delivered?
Yes — within our 5-mile route, brought straight from our cooler to your door. What we can never do is ship it. Federal law (21 CFR 1240.61) prohibits raw milk from crossing state lines, so raw dairy is local delivery or in-store pickup only, always. Anyone offering to mail you raw milk is either breaking the law or not selling you raw milk.
Is the $7 charged per item?
No. It is one flat $7 for the whole order, however many bags it takes. Cross $100 and the fee disappears entirely. There is a $35 minimum before tax so the trip makes sense for both of us.
How will I know when it is coming?
You will get an order confirmation the moment you check out, and we will let you know when your order is packed and out on the route. If anything about your delivery changes, you hear it from us before you have to wonder — we would rather call you than leave you guessing.
What if something is missing, wrong, or damaged?
Tell us within 48 hours with a photo and we will replace it or refund it — your choice, no argument. Call (209) 968-8435 or email info@frontierorganics.store. Glass jars and full milk bottles travel in this business; if one does not survive the trip, that is on us, not you.
What if something is out of stock?
We are a real store with real shelves, and a small farm run can sell out. If something in your order is gone, we contact you before we load the truck — you choose a substitute or we refund that item. We never swap something in without asking you first.
Should I tip the driver?
Never required and never expected. The $7 covers the trip. If you want to leave something for the driver you are welcome to, but no one here is working for tips — more often than not the driver is the owner.
How do I pay?
Online at checkout with any major card or the express wallets your phone offers. Calling it in? We will take payment over the phone or send you a secure checkout link — we never ask for card numbers by text or email.
Can I ask for a specific day or a delivery note?
Yes. Leave it in the order notes at checkout — which evening you would like, the gate code, which door, where the cooler sits, which dog is friendly. We read every one of them.
What about holidays?
When the store closes for a holiday the route rests with it. We post it at the store and let you know before it affects an order you have already placed.
Can I still just come in and shop?
Always, and we hope you do — 429 McHenry Ave, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday until 7. Pickup is free, and we will hold refrigerated items cold until you get here. Delivery is for the weeks when life does not leave room for the errand.
A note on raw milk & perishables: By law, raw dairy cannot cross state lines — so our raw milk, dairy, meats, ferments and other fresh goods are available for local delivery and in-store pickup only, never national shipping. It is the law, and it is also how fresh ought to be: close to home, in the hands of a neighbor.
