A small paddle brush with bamboo pins, sized for kids and travel bags.

The pins are rounded bamboo pegs set in a soft rubber cushion, so they flex over the scalp instead of scraping it. That makes detangling less of a fight for a kid who hates hair time, and it gives a light scalp massage that helps spread natural oils down the hair. The handle is solid bamboo. No plastic anywhere in the brush.

At under 8 inches it fits a backpack, purse or gym bag, and it is the right scale for small hands to use on their own.

• Start at the ends and work upward to release tangles
