Con Ternura's naturally leavened sourdough with dried cranberries and pepper jack folded through the dough. Sweet, sharp and a little spicy in the same bite, with pockets of melted cheese under a blistered crust. Sliced and toasted, it is breakfast; sliced and stacked with turkey, it is the best sandwich in the house.

Long fermentation with a wild starter breaks down much of the gluten and phytic acid in the flour before you eat it, which is why many people who feel heavy after ordinary bread digest true sourdough comfortably. No commercial yeast, no dough conditioners, no preservatives.
