A hand-made hardwood cutting board, big enough to break down a chicken or work through a pile of vegetables without things falling off the edge, small enough to lift with one hand to the sink. If you own one board, this is the one.

Wood over plastic for a reason. Plastic boards shed microplastics into your food every time the knife scores them, and the scores are where bacteria live. Hardwood closes over knife marks, and wood's own chemistry works against what tries to grow in it. It is also kinder to your knives than plastic or glass, so they stay sharp longer.

How to use

Hand wash, never the dishwasher, and dry standing up. Oil it when it looks thirsty with Corona's board oil, tallow or a food-grade mineral oil, not a seed oil that will go rancid in the grain. Cut on both sides to keep it flat.
