A sponge that grew on a vine.
Loofah is the dried inside of a gourd, and sliced into rounds it makes a natural exfoliating sponge with nothing added. These are real pieces of the loofah plant with a small cotton loop so you can hang them to dry between uses. No plastic, no synthetic fibers, no packaging.
Plastic shower poufs shed microplastics down the drain and hold bacteria in their folds. A loofah slice scrubs dead skin away, rinses clean, dries fast, and goes in the compost when it is worn out.
Who this is for
- You are replacing the plastic pouf and want something that works as well
- You have rough elbows, heels or knees that need real exfoliation
- You use bar soap and want a scrubber that lathers it up
- You are building a zero-waste bathroom one item at a time
How to use
Wet it, add soap, scrub, rinse and hang to dry. It softens with use. Loofahs are a natural product, so size, shape and color vary; most pieces are 1 to 3 inches across and some still hold a seed fragment or two. Sold unpackaged.
Desesh is a small plastic-free personal care brand based in Honolulu that ships everything in paper and cardboard only.
