About this product

Fermented, sprouted, then dried crunchy. Almonds that taste like sourdough and sit easy on the stomach.

Gut Nuts are sprouted, fermented with live probiotic cultures, then slowly dehydrated until they are crunchy again. Fermentation does two things. It gives the nuts a tangy, savory flavor a little like sourdough, and it changes what is inside them: Philosopher Foods reports up to 7 times the B vitamins and 8 to 9 times the antioxidants of raw nuts, with fewer of the anti-nutrients that make nuts hard on some stomachs. The drying step means the cultures are no longer alive, which makes these a postbiotic snack rather than a probiotic one: the compounds the bacteria made are all still there. Three ingredients.

Who this is for

  • You love nuts but they leave you bloated
  • Snacking for gut health without another yogurt
  • Keto, paleo and whole-food eaters who want savory instead of sweet
  • A salad or grain-bowl topper with more flavor than plain almonds
  • Anyone curious what fermented nuts taste like
