People have stored drinking water in copper vessels for thousands of years; Ayurvedic practice recommends a cup of water that has sat overnight in copper first thing in the morning, and Egyptian medical texts from 2200 B.C. describe copper's cleansing properties. The Niagara is Sertodo's most-used piece: heavy-gauge pure copper from 100% recycled sources, TIG-welded into a completely seamless body that will never separate or leak, with no plastic anywhere. Every piece is hammered by hand, so no two are identical. It sits on the counter or a standard water-cooler stand and holds a 2 to 5 gallon jug or glass carboy on top.

Caring for it

Copper develops a natural patina over time; that's the metal living, not a defect. A cut lemon dipped in salt, or any copper polish, brings back the shine. Hand wash only.
