Nearly every dark chocolate bar, even the good ones, is cacao plus refined sugar. The Conscious Bar replaces the sugar with whole dates, which bring fiber, potassium and antioxidants along with their sweetness and take the edge off the bitterness of a high-cacao bar. The cacao is organic and single-origin from the Semuliki Forest in Uganda. The result is lightly sweet, deeply chocolatey and a little fruity, with none of the sharp sugar hit. Every bar is organic, vegan and gluten-free.
