Where to Buy Raw Milk in Modesto
Raw milk is sold in Modesto at Frontier Organics, 429 McHenry Ave, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 7 PM. It is in the cooler, sold sealed as bottled by CDFA-permitted California dairies, and it cannot be shipped — you buy it in the store.
Who sells raw milk in Modesto?
We do. Frontier Organics at 429 McHenry Avenue, Modesto, CA 95354 — (209) 968-8435. California is one of the states where retail raw milk is legal, and the dairies we buy from hold permits from the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The milk arrives sealed exactly as the dairy bottled it. We do not open it, decant it, or re-bottle it.
Availability moves with delivery days. Call before you drive across town if you need a specific bottle, and we will tell you what is in the cooler right now.
What raw dairy do you carry?

| Raw kefir | Raw Farm | Cultured, live |
| Cultured raw butter | Raw Farm | |
| Raw cheddar — block and shredded | Raw Farm | Aged, sold cold |
Everything above lives in The Farm Store.
Why can't raw milk be shipped?
Federal law prohibits the interstate sale and shipment of raw milk intended for human consumption. That is not a policy we chose and not one we can work around — it is why every raw dairy item on this site is marked in-store only, and why you will not find a shipping option on them at checkout. Cold-chain is the second reason: raw milk belongs in a cooler, not in a cardboard box on a truck for three days.
Our shelf-stable goods — the apothecary line, tallow butters, pantry items — ship anywhere in the United States, free over $100.
What's the difference between A1 and A2 milk?
A1 and A2 refer to two forms of beta-casein, the main protein in cow milk. Most conventional herds in the United States produce a mix of both. Some people who react badly to ordinary milk report tolerating A2 milk better; the research is still contested and we are not going to tell you it is settled. We stock both and let you decide. Goat and sheep milk are naturally A2-type.
How do I know it's fresh?
Every bottle carries the dairy's own date. We rotate the cooler daily and pull anything at its date — we do not discount expiring raw dairy to move it. If you want the newest bottle on the shelf, ask and we will hand you one from the back.
Can I reserve raw milk?
Yes. Call (209) 968-8435 or email info@frontierorganics.store and we will set it aside under your name for the day. Delivery days sell through fast, particularly A2 cow and goat.
Where else can I get raw milk near Modesto?
Raw dairy is also sold at some health-food retailers and directly from permitted dairies elsewhere in the Central Valley. If we are out of what you need, ask us — we would rather send you somewhere else than have you drive home empty. We are a short drive from Ceres, Salida, Riverbank, Turlock, Oakdale, Ripon and Escalon.
Is raw milk right for me?
That is your call and, if you want one, your doctor's. Raw milk carries risks that pasteurized milk does not, which is why it is regulated the way it is. We sell it sealed as bottled by permitted dairies, we tell you exactly where it came from, and we do not make health claims about it. Read the label, decide for yourself, and ask us anything about the source.
