100% pure copper, solid through and through. Butte Copper Company confirmed it for us. No stainless core, no plating, no coating. Most copper drinkware on the market is plated stainless steel that looks identical in a photograph, wears through at the rim, and stays the same color forever. This one darkens. The mirror finish goes warm and mottled over months, and that patina is how you know the copper is real.

Hand wash only. The dishwasher is the one thing that ruins these: detergent plus heat leaves the surface blotchy. Lemon and salt rubs the shine back when you want it. Leaving it dark is a fine choice too.

Bare copper is at its best with water, beer and spirits. Wine and citrus drinks are acidic, so drink them cold rather than letting a glass stand for hours, and never use copper for storage.

Copper conducts cold fast, so a chilled pour frosts the outside almost at once.
