Barrel-shaped, hammered by hand, 16 ounces. The barrel profile is wider at the middle than at the lip, so it sits in the hand differently than a straight mug. The hammering scatters light and hides fingerprints.
What you are holding is 100% pure copper, solid all the way through. Copper Mug Company confirmed it: no steel core, no plating, no coating. Say it plainly, because the shelf next to us is full of copper-plated stainless steel. Same photograph, lighter in the hand, plating that wears through at the rim, and a finish that never ages a day. This one ages. The surface darkens and mottles, and that patina is the receipt.
Hand wash only. Never the dishwasher, since detergent and heat leave copper blotchy. Lemon and coarse salt bring the shine back whenever you want it; letting it darken instead is a perfectly good decision.
Water, beer and spirits suit bare copper best. A mule with fresh lime is acidic, traditional and worth drinking, just drink it cold and don't let it stand for hours. Copper is not a storage vessel.
Copper moves heat fast, which is why a cold pour frosts one of these almost immediately.
