Two barrel-shaped smooth copper mugs, 16 ounces each, marked Mr. & Mrs. It is a wedding-gift set and it is honest about that. Smooth walls, so the lettering reads clearly.
Both mugs are 100% pure copper, solid metal front to back. Copper Mug Company confirmed it. No stainless core, no plating, no coating. Nearly every copper gift set at this price is plated steel that looks identical online, thins out at the rim, and stays factory-bright forever. These two will darken instead, and they will not darken identically. One gets used more, one sits. That is patina, and it is the proof the copper goes all the way down.
Hand wash only. The dishwasher is what kills copper: detergent and heat leave it blotchy. Lemon and salt restores the shine in a minute. Letting them go dark is equally fine.
Bare copper is at its best with water, beer and spirits. A mule with fresh lime is an acidic drink, traditional and fine to enjoy, but drink it cold and don't let it stand for hours. Never use these for storage.
Copper conducts cold quickly, so a chilled drink frosts the outside almost the moment it is poured.
