100% pure copper, solid through, confirmed with Copper Mug Company. No stainless core, no plating, no coating. Plated stainless looks identical in a photograph and weighs almost nothing in the hand. It also wears through at the rim eventually, and it never patinas, because there is only a few microns of copper on it. This mug is heavy and it ages. The bright finish goes warm and uneven, and that is the difference showing itself.

Hand wash only, no exceptions. A dishwasher's detergent and heat leave copper blotchy. Lemon and salt restores the shine when you want it back; letting it darken is equally fine.

Bare copper is best with water, beer and spirits. A mule with fresh lime is acidic, traditional and worth drinking. Drink it cold rather than letting it stand for hours, and don't store anything in copper.
